They spent 53 years together serving the Lord with Guy continuing after Evelyn's passing. He loved teaching Bible to the many students in Sullivan and Scott Counties, (with many over the years telling him what that meant to them throughout their lives) He pastored: Arcadia Union, Arcadia Presbyterian, Harmony Presbyterian, and Beidleman Presbyterian Churches. Until his illness, Guy did a daily devotional for Temple Baptist Church, WHCB and WMCH Radio Stations. He also was the producer and voice of "Bancroft Bible Camp Storytime" and was known as "Uncle Guy" to many people, young and old.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn; his parents, Guy E. Sr. and Ida Mae Rendo Tilley and a baby sister.

Survivors include his two daughters, Mae Lynn Workley and husband, James, Bethany Tilley and special friend Billy McCrary; sister, Cordelia Herbert and husband, Bill; two brothers, Gordon Tilley and wife, Peggy and Joe Tilley and wife, Nancy; many nieces and nephews along with his large extended family including the families of Bancroft and WHCB 91.5FM.

Guy has donated his body to the Quillen College of Medicine.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Temple Baptist Church, 2200 Memorial Court, Kingsport. A memorial service will be held in the church at 7 pm with Rev. Keith Walsworth, Rev. Brian Shuler and Rev. Kenneth C. Hill, conducting the services. Visitation will continue after the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be given to Bancroft Gospel Ministries, Temple Baptist Church, WHCB 91.5FM or WMCH Radio Stations.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Holston Manor Nursing Home, Amedisys Hospice and to his church family at Temple Baptist.
