Prayer Request for Grandma in Honduras

Prayer Request: Luis Vega, missionary Latin-American Director for World Reach and my Gemelo (twin brother) in Siguatepeque, Honduras, has called requesting prayer for his Mother-In-Law, Lettie. We simply call her Grandma.

She had some major heart malfunction last night and needed quite a bit of care at the clinic. They released her to come home for watchful rest and medication. She is very ill. So, please join the Hill Family in praying for Grandma's speedy recovery and for strength and wisdom for the Vega Family as they tend to her needs. I understand that Nancy is on 24-hour duty with Grandma so ask God to especially bless Nancy, too.

Grandma is such a precious lady! She loves the Lord and she loves her family!

Thanks for your prayers!

Christ Jesus - One Solitary Life

One Solitary Life
Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.

He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself...

While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.

I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.

Please Pray for Peggy Glaze - Update

THANK YOU for your prayers for Peggy and Bob.  The surgery went well.  Although there was a great amount of infection in the knee, the surgeon did not amputate the leg.  He has implanted a metal rod and removed the knee apparatus.  Peggy will not be able to bend her leg, but will be able to walk once the healing and rehabilitation is completed.  She has been standing beside the bed and plans to go home tomorrow!  Please continue to pray for the infection to be eradicated and for healing to be complete.  God is most gracious!

Prayer Request - Peggy Glaze

Please be in prayer for the wife of Bob Glaze, Peggy.  Peggy will be undergoing surgery on September 25th (Tuesday) that will result in either a steel rod in one of her legs and shortening of the leg by four inches or an amputation of that leg to a point above the knee.  She has been in extreme pain for several years, enduring 7 major knee surgeries that included 4 complete knee replacements.  These surgeries resulted in uncontrolled infections and many dire complications.  Pray also for Bob since he is her primary caregiver in the home.  He has been suffering from sciatica due to his heavy workload and lack of rest.  Bob also serves as General Manager of the Southwest Radio Church Ministries.  Thank you for praying for Peggy and Bob.

CHRIST JESUS is Risen from the grave

CHRIST JESUS is not here, because He has risen from the tomb!

Christ is Alive

Christ is Alive!

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:12-20

Bible Text: “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.”

- 1 Corinthians 15:14

Has anyone told you that Christ did not rise from the dead? Or perhaps, that even if Christ was not resurrected that it would not matter to the Christians or their faith?

The early church in the city of Corinth apparently had someone spreading the lie that Christ had not risen from the dead. In fact this was the common story that was spread shortly after the resurrection of Christ by those who hated and persecuted Christians.

Paul said that it mattered greatly if Christ had risen from the dead. If fact is was so important that if Christ had not risen, then all his efforts were worthless.

Today, as then, it is still important to understand that the truth of the resurrection of Christ Jesus is the validation of the ministry and Person of Christ. Without the resurrection, we would have no hope.

I am glad that our hope is secure because Christ arose from the dead.

The fact of resurrection is not extraordinary; it is in accord with what we who believe at all believe to be the uniform law of life--that death does not touch it. The witnesses to the resurrection of Christ were unprejudiced, unexpectant, incredulous, and their honesty is not doubted even by skeptical criticism. - Charles Haddon Spurgeon
